This Ethiopian single-origin coffee features the prized Gori Gesha varietal, harvested at 1680 meters and processed naturally. A City roast brings out complex flavor layers: tart yellow plum and sangria notes balanced by warm orange, caramel, and creamy cashew butter.

Established in 2019 in Ethiopia’s Gesha region, this farm may be outside the renowned Yirgacheffe area, but it produces some of the world’s most celebrated varieties. The Gori Gesha varietal is famous for its outstanding cup quality and is considered one of the oldest and most treasured heirlooms, first planted in the Gori Gesha forest just 20 minutes from the farm.

Every step of the picking and processing is handled with care. This lot is a sibling to the Carbonic Maceration lot, sharing the same 92-hour fermentation but without added carbon dioxide. It comes from cherries with an impressive Brix reading of 22 (a measure of sugar content), well above the typical 18 for coffee cherries. Thanks to the Gesha region’s warmer climate compared to places like Sidama, drying naturals here is a smooth process.

The result is a vibrant, elegant cup with orange blossom aromatics, bright orange acidity, caramel sweetness, and hints of yellow plum and sangria. A rare and delightful varietal worth savoring!
